{"id":4864,"date":"2018-10-03T15:50:35","date_gmt":"2018-10-03T13:50:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fondationthalie.org\/fr\/?p=4864"},"modified":"2022-11-02T18:51:12","modified_gmt":"2022-11-02T17:51:12","slug":"the-tea-set-2018-par-rain-wu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.fondationthalie.org\/en\/off-site\/francais-the-tea-set-par-rain-wu\/","title":{"rendered":"The Tea Set (2018) by Rain WU"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Fondation Thalie is pleased to present\u00a0<em>The Tea Set<\/em><em>,\u00a0<\/em>a work by Rain Wu, artist who has been in residence in 2018 at Fondation Thalie, Brussels.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Tea Set<\/em>\u00a0is a series of narrative objects made by Rain Wu and that has been shown at The Design Museum London, Tate Modern, and Woodruff Art Centre, Atlanta (US).<\/p>\n<p><em>The Tea Set<\/em>\u00a0illustrates the cultural history around a British cuppa through a devised Tea Ceremony with Eastern attention and appreciation. Made of grogged stoneware clay, <em>The Tea Set\u00a0<\/em>alludes to a ritual unearthed from a distant time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rain Wu (1987, Taiwan)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Rain Wu<\/strong> is a Taiwanese-born artist, living and working between Maastricht, Brussels and London. Her works are concept driven and arch over a spectrum of materials, scales and spatial experiences.
