Espace H18<\/a>: 18 place du Ch\u00e2telain, 1050 Bruxelles<\/strong><\/p>\n With the artists:<\/strong> Curators\u00a0:\u00a0Nathalie Guiot and Philippe Terrier-Hermann<\/a>.<\/p>\n The exhibition\u00a0Wabi Sabi Shima<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0gathers a selection of artists from the contemporary Japanese art scene with a group of European artists influenced by the Land of the Rising Sun.\u00a0<\/span>More than 60 works will be presented, several of which have never before been exhibited in Europe.\u00a0A ripe terrain for fascination and artistic interrogation, Japanese culture never ceases to intrigue in its particularity. Wabi sabi<\/em> is the embodiment of Japanese beauty, and a concept that illustrates key notions in Japanese aesthetics: Wabi<\/em> represents the notion of refinement through simplicity, while sabi<\/em>explores the concept of weathering over time. The exhibition\u00a0Wabi Sabi Shima<\/em>\u00a0offers a journey into the heart of a culture that celebrates the perfection of imperfection, nature, and simplicity without eschewing politics, collective memory, terrestrial violence.\u00a0Programmed to coincide with the contemporary art fair Art Brussels,\u00a0Wabi Sabi Shima<\/em>\u00a0follows\u00a0Found in Translation<\/em>\u00a0(2013) \u2013 an exploration of the Belgian art scene \u2013 and\u00a0Textiles Languages<\/em>\u00a0(2014) on the Indian art scene.
