Post-apocalypse, dystopia, ecological teleology<i>GREEN SOUL, The Anthropocene, cultures, imaginaries<\/i>"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p>The Foundation is offering a new series of lectures <em>Green Soul, L&#8217;anthropoc\u00e8ne, cultures, imaginaires<\/em>, designed and led by Paul Ardenne, art historian and exhibition curator. This series of lectures, conceived as a whole, aims to give a picture as complete as possible of the anthropocenic &#8216;spirit of the age&#8217;, the prodigal of the &#8216;Green Soul&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>The imaginary of the end of the world.<\/strong> Post-apocalypse, dystopia, ecological teleology<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The third lecture, Tuesday 23 January 2024, will question the theory of the end of the world as seen and imagined by mankind. Some proclaim that in ecological terms &#8220;another world is possible&#8221;, while others consider that the world, for mankind, is lost &#8211; in the more or less long term. It is an imaginary world in which humans have reached their ultimate development, and which excludes them or returns them to regressive forms of life, marked by primitivism. The Anthropocene imaginary is characterised by a whole culture that is both apocalyptic and dystopian, which Paul Ardenne will confront on this occasion.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Paul Ardenne<\/strong> has a degree in History and a doctorate in Arts and Art Sciences. He is a contributor to the journals Art press, Archistorm and INTER-Art actuel, and is the author of several books: Art, l&#8217;\u00e2ge contemporain (1997), L&#8217;Art dans son moment politique (2000), L&#8217;Image Corps (2001), Un Art contextuel (2002), Art, le pr\u00e9sent (2009), Un Art \u00e9cologique. Cr\u00e9ation plasticienne et anthropoc\u00e8ne (2018), L&#8217;Art en joie. Aesthetics of joyful humanity (2023). He is also a novelist and specialist in architecture (Terre Habit\u00e9e, 2005; La Bonne ville, 2019; Le Boost et le frein &#8211; Comment l&#8217;humain b\u00e2tit au 21e si\u00e8cle?, 2021&#8230;).<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>As a curator of contemporary art, Paul Ardenne has designed numerous exhibitions, the most recent of which are &#8220;Dendromorphies. Creating with trees&#8221; (Paris, 2016), &#8220;Courants verts. Creating for the environment&#8221; (Paris, 2019) and &#8220;L&#8217;anthropoc\u00e8ne et apr\u00e8s&#8221; (Saint-Denis de la R\u00e9union, 2020). He has produced several programmes on France Culture devoted to art in the age of the Anthropocene (&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.radiofrance.fr\/franceculture\/podcasts\/serie-l-art-est-l-environnement\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">L&#8217;art est l&#8217;environnement<\/a>&#8220;, January 2023) and is a regular contributor to the series of programmes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arte.tv\/en\/videos\/RC-023176\/the-world-in-images\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The World in Images<\/a>, on the ARTE television channel.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Program<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. <em>Words that say it all.
