The exhibition <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u201c<\/span><span lang=\"FR\">Panorama<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u201d<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">invit<\/span><span lang=\"FR\">es <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">viewers <\/span><span lang=\"FR\">to take a poetic stroll through the artist<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u2019s <\/span><span lang=\"FR\">sculptural work<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">: <\/span><span lang=\"FR\">a\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">call<\/span><span lang=\"FR\"> to <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">daydream with <\/span><span lang=\"FR\">philosoph<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">ic accents of <\/span><span lang=\"FR\">Jean-Jacques Rousseau <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">between fragments of landscapes and fantastical architectural elements. In the artist\u2019s<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">adept <\/span><span lang=\"FR\">hand<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">s, works of man and nature come together, like the <i>B<\/i><\/span><i><span lang=\"FR\">alcony <\/span><\/i><span lang=\"EN-US\">from which the carefully crafted ironworks are adorned with finely cut<\/span><span lang=\"FR\"> lianas<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> to the <\/span><i><span lang=\"IT\">Grott<\/span><\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">o <\/span><\/i><span lang=\"EN-US\">of cardboard that jointly summons the imaginary of the architectural <i>folie <\/i>and 18th-century landscaped gardens.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span lang=\"FR\"><br \/>\nInspired by the monumental fountains of ancient Rome, which<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">,<\/span><span lang=\"FR\"> during the Renaissance<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">,<\/span><span lang=\"FR\"> became fashionable ornaments in parks and gardens, the <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">rock garden <\/span><span lang=\"FR\">theater of <i>Nymph\u00e9e<\/i><\/span><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">,<\/span><\/i> <span lang=\"EN-US\">over three meters<\/span><span lang=\"FR\"> long<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">, stands <\/span><span lang=\"FR\">majest<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">ically<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">at<\/span><span lang=\"FR\"> the heart of the exhibition<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">, <\/span><span lang=\"FR\">revealing the artist<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u2019s full <\/span><span lang=\"FR\">mastery. <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">T<\/span><span lang=\"FR\">he gaze wanders <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">across<\/span><span lang=\"FR\"> the landscape<\/span> <span lang=\"FR\">strata <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">at <\/span><span lang=\"FR\">reduced<\/span> <span lang=\"FR\">scale, to which the sculpted cardboard <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u2014<\/span><span lang=\"FR\"> h<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">er<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">favourite <\/span><span lang=\"FR\">material <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u2014<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">features<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">a <\/span><span lang=\"FR\">rock<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">y <\/span><span lang=\"FR\">appearance.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"FR\">Conducive to <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">psychological<\/span><span lang=\"FR\"> escap<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">ism<\/span><span lang=\"FR\"> and wandering imagination, the forests that made Eva Jospin <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">so celebrated<\/span><span lang=\"FR\"> also hold an important place in the <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">visitor\u2019s journey<\/span><span lang=\"FR\">, <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">expressed<\/span><span lang=\"FR\"> in multiple mediums and formats. Woven with silk threads, as <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">with<\/span><span lang=\"FR\"> the woodland embroideries that <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">embellish<\/span><span lang=\"FR\"> the library <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">sector<\/span><span lang=\"FR\">, they bear witness to the artist&#8217;s talent as a colourist. Chiseled in <i>bas-relief <\/i>in the cardboard, they <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">imbue<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">the sculpture with <\/span><span lang=\"FR\">meticulousness and attention to detail <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">that is usually<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">reserved<\/span><span lang=\"FR\"> to drawing, which <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">in fact<\/span><span lang=\"FR\"> serves as <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">the<\/span> <span lang=\"FR\">matrix for all of Eva Jospin&#8217;s plastic research.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"FR\">While <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">this<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">era<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">struggles with<\/span><span lang=\"FR\"> unprecedented crisis <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">in<\/span><span lang=\"FR\"> the living<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> world<\/span><span lang=\"FR\">, these works <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">absent<\/span><span lang=\"FR\"> of human<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">s<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">(<\/span><span lang=\"FR\">yet full of stories<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">) <\/span><span lang=\"FR\">reveal<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> nature<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">in <\/span><span lang=\"FR\">different<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> depictions<\/span><span lang=\"FR\">, <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">inspiring<\/span><span lang=\"FR\"> us to<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> feel <\/span><span lang=\"FR\">re-enchant<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">ed with<\/span><span lang=\"FR\"> our relationship <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">to<\/span><span lang=\"FR\"> the world. For fifteen years, she has been composing scaleable architectural forest landscapes. Winner of the Prix de l\u2019Acade\u0301mie des Beaux-Arts in 2015 and resident of the Villa Medici in Rome in 2017, she has had numerous international exhibitions, notably at the Palais of Tokyo (<\/em>Inside<em>, 2014), at the Palazzo Dei Diamanti in Ferrara (2018), at the Hayward Gallery (2020) and most recently at the Muse\u0301e de la Chasse et de la Nature in Paris (<\/em>Galleria<em>, 2021). The artist has also unveiled several monumental and immersive installations as part of specific commissions: in the center of the Cour carre\u0301e of the Louvre (<\/em>Panorama<em>, 2016), at the Abbaye de Montmajour (<\/em>Ce\u0301notaphe<em>, 2020), and she also created permanently-installed works such as <\/em>Folie<em> at the Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire (2015), <\/em>La Traverse\u0301e<em> at Beaupassage in Paris (2018) and <\/em>Le Passage<em> in Nantes (2019). Eva Jospin will be exhibiting in the chapel of the Palais des Papes in Avignon this summer in a monographic exhibition entitled &#8220;Palazzo&#8221; as well as at the Collection Lambert where she will present a selection of works.
