{"id":19913,"date":"2022-10-14T20:54:21","date_gmt":"2022-10-14T18:54:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fondationthalie.org\/fr\/?p=19913"},"modified":"2023-01-06T15:39:51","modified_gmt":"2023-01-06T14:39:51","slug":"inauguration-du-partenariat-fondation-thalie-ecole-des-arts-decoratifs-de-paris","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.fondationthalie.org\/en\/off-site\/partnership\/francais-inauguration-du-partenariat-fondation-thalie-ecole-des-arts-decoratifs-de-paris\/","title":{"rendered":"Launch of the partnership between Fondation Thalie and the \u00c9cole nationale sup\u00e9rieure des Arts D\u00e9coratifs de Paris"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Fondation Thalie is pleased to announce the\u00a0launch of a partnership with the \u00c9cole Nationale Sup\u00e9rieure des Arts D\u00e9coratifs de Paris for the 3rd season of the series of conversations \u00a0\u201cCreators facing Climate Emergency\u201d.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>On a monthly basis, these meetings between artists and scientists aim to raise public awareness, particularly among the younger generation of creators, of the need to invent new imaginaries of transition, to reflect on new ways of designing and producing with biomaterials: <em>How does the impact of global warming already generate new ways of living in the world, more respectful of planetary limits?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Launched in 2020 by the Foundation<\/strong> <strong>on the initiative of Nathalie Guiot<\/strong>, the series of conversations <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fondationthalie.org\/en\/podcasts?tags%5B0%5D=228\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><strong>Creators facing the climate emergency<\/strong><\/em><\/a> mobilizes the bold vision of the artist to imagine possible futures and invites the sharing of knowledge, by collaborating with researchers to reveal scientific facts through the experience of the sensitive. With more than 50 artists and scientists invited in two years, these meetings, attended by more than 65,000 people, aim to create collaborations between these two disciplines.<\/p>\n<p>Based on a curatorial proposal by Fondation Thalie, this third season hosted at the \u00c9cole des Arts D\u00e9coratifs is organised by <strong>Stefano Vendramin<\/strong>, coordinator of the programme <em>Creators facing the climate emergency<\/em>, in co-construction with <strong>Francesca Cozzolino<\/strong>, teacher in human and social sciences, and <strong>Patrick Laffont-DeLojo<\/strong>, teacher in stage design at the \u00c9cole des Arts D\u00e9coratifs<\/p>\n<p>Inaugural encounter on October 26, 2022 with artist and choreographer <strong>Tino Sehgal<\/strong> and environmental journalist, and Founder of the Momentum Institute <strong>Agn\u00e8s Sina\u00ef<\/strong>, on the theme &#8220;Creating without destroying&#8221;, available in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fondationthalie.org\/en\/podcasts\/?tags%5B%5D=228\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">video replay<\/a> and in podcast on the Foundation&#8217;s website.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Artists have an infinite capacity to be precursors in the invention of new forms. Yesterday&#8217;s practices must be overturned through artistic creation. This means conceiving new narratives and new forms and methods of production. Through the medium of emotion and imagination, artists are able to mobilise us, a particularly urgent impetus given impending climate issues and the immense challenges that our society faces. Our role as a cultural actor is thus to involve and support the young generation towards new ways of thinking about and creating a carbon-free world.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>Nathalie Guiot, curator et Founder of the Fondation Thalie<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is no art more urgent than that of living together, no design more necessary than that of a shared planet, made up of both the living and the non-living. Hosting the series &#8220;Creators facing climate emergency&#8221;, conceived in partnership with the Fondation Thalie, is part of the mission of our School: to train students, not just so that they fit into the world, but so that they can transform it. Enabling these meetings with artists recognised for their artistic commitment in favor of the reconfiguration of our living environment &#8211; both imaginary and real, visual and material, analogue and digital, natural and artificial &#8211; is to give the means to our young generation of creators and designers to conceive and implement solutions to the great ecological concern of our time.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2028<\/span><b>Emmanuel Tibloux, Director of the \u00c9cole des Arts D\u00e9coratifs<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong><br \/>\nThe \u00c9cole Nationale Sup\u00e9rieure des Arts D\u00e9coratifs<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>A wellspring for intellectual, creative and artistic development for over 250 years, the \u00c9cole des Arts D\u00e9coratifs Paris aims to give the new generation of artists, designers and creators the tools they need to transform tomorrow&#8217;s world. Every year the \u00c9cole des Arts D\u00e9coratifs trains over 800 students in 10 departments (Art, Interior Architecture, Animation, Graphic Design, Product Design, Textile and Texture Design, Fashion Design, Printed Image, Photography\/Video and Stage Design). Students who are committed to producing the material, visual and imaginary environment that reflect today&#8217;s world and reflecting on changes in the social and artistic landscape.<\/p>\n<p>With a unique educational model, a remarkably outward-looking approach and an exceptional research centre, the \u00c9cole des Arts D\u00e9coratifs ranks as one of the top art, design and fashion schools.<\/p>\n<p>The \u00c9cole des Arts D\u00e9coratifs is an institute of higher learning under the authority of the Ministry of Culture and Communication and a partner of Universit\u00e9 PSL (Paris Sciences &amp; Lettres).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Emmanuel Tibloux<\/strong> <strong>is Director of the \u00c9cole des Arts D\u00e9coratifs since 2018<\/strong>, formerly Director of the Ecole nationale sup\u00e9rieure des Beaux-arts de Lyon.\u00a0A former student of the \u00c9cole normale sup\u00e9rieure de Fontenay-Saint-Cloud, he has directed the \u00c9cole sup\u00e9rieure d&#8217;art et de design de Saint-Etienne, the \u00c9cole r\u00e9gionale des beaux-arts de Valence and the Institut fran\u00e7ais de Bilbao.<\/p>\n<p>Emmanuel Tibloux&#8217;s project for the Ecole des Arts D\u00e9coratifs takes into account the specificities of this school of excellence which welcomes more than 800 students per year.
