Artists have always had infinite capabilities of being precursors in inventing new forms<\/strong>, just like architects. Today, yesterday’s constructions have to become the foundation of artistic creations to create new narratives<\/strong>, new forms and production processes. Through the field of emotion and dreams, through sensitivity, the artist can bring in new imaginaries of transition<\/strong> and push us towards the starting line, at an urgent pace to confront the climate emergency and respond to our society’s immense current challenges.<\/em><\/p>\n Guests :\u00a0Kader Attia<\/strong>, visual artist and curator, Eva Jospin<\/strong>, visual artist<\/strong> <\/b>and Nicola Delon<\/strong>, architect and founding member of the collective, Encore Heureux.\u00a0 Place : M\u00e9jan Chapel (Chapel du M\u00e9jan), Arles (France)<\/p>\n Kader Attia\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>(born in 1970 in Dugny) grew up between France and Algeria and has been developing for the past twenty years\u00a0<\/span>a multidisciplinary practice nourished by his multicultural roots<\/span><\/strong>. He explores the perspective of societies on their history, notably the privatisation and repression, the violence and loss, and the way they affect the evolution of individuals and the nations, both connected to the collective memory. His research has brought him to the\u00a0<\/span>idea of reparation<\/span><\/strong>, a concept he philosophically developed in his writings and symbolically through his art. The principle of reparation being a constant in nature – is within humanity, that\u00a0<\/span>all living systems, social or cultural, can be considered as an infinite process of\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>reparation, closely related to loss and wounds.<\/span><\/p>\n His work has been shown in many international exhibits, notably, at the\u00a0<\/span>Kunsthaus Z\u00fcrich<\/span><\/a>, the\u00a0<\/span>Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive<\/span><\/a>, Hayward Gallery in London, MacVal in Vitry-sur-Seine, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney, the S.M.A.K in Ghent, and the Whitechapel Gallery in London. His work has also been shown at the 12th Biennale of Gwangju, the 12th Biennale of Shanghai, the 12th Manifesta, Palermo, the <\/span>57th Venice Biennale<\/span><\/a>, and\u00a0<\/span>dOCUMENTA(13<\/span><\/a>).<\/span><\/p>\n Curator of the Berlin Biennale 2022, winner of the Joan Mir<\/b>\u00f3 (2017) and of the Marcel Duchamp prize (2016)<\/strong>, <\/span>Kader Attia is represented by the galleries Continua, <\/span>Lehmann Maupin, and Nagel Draxler.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Eva Jospin<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0is born in 1975 in Paris, where she lives and works. She graduated from the National School of Fine Arts of Paris and in 2015 was a resident artist at the\u00a0<\/span>Villa Medicis<\/span><\/a>\u00a0in Rome. She has had her work shown in, not only, the Manufacture des Gobelins, the Palais de Tokyo, the Cour Carr\u00e9e of the Louvre, and the Hayward Gallery in London. Her installations live in public spaces where they can be seen from the Beaupassage in Paris, Nantes, and the Domaine de Chaumont in the Loire. In 2021 and 2022, Eva Jospin created new works for the public space (Mus\u00e9e des Impressionismes, Giverny, Fondazione Maramotti, Milan) and participated in many exhibits, notably at the foundation Arter in Istanbul and the\u00a0<\/span>Mus\u00e9e de la Chasse in Paris<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Her work is currently in the National School of Fine Arts in Paris and the Domaine de la Garenne Lemot in G\u00e9tign\u00e9. Eva Jospin is represented by the Galerie Suzanne Tarasieve<\/a>,<\/span> Paris.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Graduate from the\u00a0<\/span>ENSA Paris-la-Villette<\/span><\/a>\u00a0in 2001,\u00a0<\/span>Nicola Delon\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>is an architect and co-founder of the\u00a0<\/span>Encore Heureux collective<\/span><\/u><\/a> with Julien Choppin. In 2014, he co-curated the exhibit <\/span>Mati\u00e8re Grise\u00a0<\/span><\/em>at the Pavillon de l’Arsenal, which explored the re-use of materials as a new paradigm of construction during the worldwide crises of natural resources. <\/span>Joined in 2016 by the partners S\u00e9bastien Eymard and Sonia Vu,\u00a0 Encore Heureux curated the French Pavillion, in 2018, for the 16th International Architecture Biennale in Venice with the exhibit \u00ab Lieux Infinis, an inventory of places that invite the unanticipated and the common desire. Nicola Delon has participated in many conferences throughout the world, supporting a more sober, fairer, and happier architecture.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
