The work is part of the artist&#8217;s practice of using mainly everyday objects and modest materials that he decontextualizes to question their original function and plasticity.<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nH\u00e9ctor ZAMORA<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nBorn in 1974 in Mexico, <strong>H\u00e9ctor Zamora<\/strong> lived for several years in S\u00e3o Paulo before settling in Lisbon.\u00a0Modelling the ephemeral through the medium of installation, performance and video, his practice is regularly inscribed in specific sites and questions the exhibition space by creating works that involve the active participation of visitors.\u00a0In recent years, H\u00e9ctor Zamora has worked mainly in public spaces, with the aim of integrating his works into the urban environment that surrounds them. The <em>Strangler<\/em> project, currently on display at Trienniale\u00a0Brugge 2021 in the garden of the Gezellehuis, illustrates the tension between the natural space and its apprehension by the public through an industrial scaffold installed around a large Austrian pine tree.<br \/>\nH\u00e9ctor Zamora&#8217;s work has been shown in numerous international exhibitions and commissions, including the Havana Biennial, the Venice and Liverpool Biennials and the Met Museum in New York. Among his notable solo exhibitions are <em>Movimientos Emisores de Existencia<\/em>, Labor Gallery (2019), <em>Ordre et Progr\u00e8s<\/em>, Palais de Tokyo &#8211; SAM Art projects (2016), <em>La r\u00e9alit\u00e9 et autres tromperies<\/em>, FRAC des Pays de la Loire (2015). He is represented by the galleries Albarr\u00e1n Bourdais, Madrid, Labor, Mexico City and Luciana Brito, S\u00e3o Paulo and will be present at the <strong>13th Mercosul Biennial<\/strong> (Brazil) in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Anissa\u00a0TOUATI<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Anissa Touati is a French exhibition designer and independent curator trained in archaeology. She is also the founding director of the cultural organisation Octavia, which supports hybridity as a potential root of harmonious community life. She is the former artistic director of the Contemporary Istanbul fair, for which she built a programme of reflection on the issue of Mediterraneanity, and the former associate director of the Chalet Society in Paris. She has organised or co-organised exhibitions in institutions and galleries around the world, including Turkey, Lebanon, Mexico, Argentina, the United States, Italy and France, including the launch of the BeMa museum in Lebanon in 2018, Cycles of collapsing progress.
