Artists, scientists and philosophers are invited to question today\u2019s world and imagine <strong>new narratives<\/strong> to draw more desirable futures:<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Which commitment and <strong>responsibility<\/strong> do the artist and the philosopher have regarding this crisis?<br \/>\n\u2013 How are\u00a0<strong>artistic<\/strong> and <strong>writing<\/strong> <strong>practices\u00a0<\/strong>impacted? Over the last ten years, work centred on the<strong> representation of\u00a0environments<\/strong>\u00a0and the underwater environment from which has resulted a <strong>documentary photographic production<\/strong> linked to global changes and the definition of the notion of <strong>underwater landscape<\/strong>. He is currently exhibited at the <strong>Frac Provence-Alpes-C\u00f4te d&#8217;Azur<\/strong> [<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fracpaca.org\/The-Frac\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Paysages productifs<\/a><\/em> &#8211; until 25 April 2021]. His research are inspired by reality and positions the artist and the citizen as active actors in the evolution of our relationship with the living.\u00a0Nicolas Floc&#8217;h is represented by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.galeriemaubert.com\/en-gb\/sara-favriau\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Galerie Maubert<\/strong><\/a> in Paris and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/lmno.be\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Galerie LMNO<\/a><\/strong> in Brussels. He has been featured in numerous French and international shows, including at the SMAK, Ghent, Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris, MAC\/VAL, Vitry-sur-Seine, Palais de Tokyo, Paris, MAMM, Moscow, Setouchi Triennial, Japan, Kyocera Museum, Kyoto, Japan, MALI, Lima, Peru, Matucana 100, Santiago, Chile.<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nSylvain AGOSTINI\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Assistant professor since 2012 at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsukuba.ac.jp\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">University of Tsukuba<\/a>, Sylvain Agostini is based at the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.shimoda.tsukuba.ac.jp\/eng-home.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Shimoda Marine Research Center<\/a><\/strong>. His main focus is<strong> the fate of corals and marine ecosystems<\/strong> in the context of climate change, <strong>ocean acidification<\/strong> and <strong>anthropogenic pressures<\/strong>. In his research he combines field work on boats and dives as well as laboratory experiments.\u00a0He is currently working on several projects including the development of a technique to increase <strong>resilience to coral bleaching<\/strong>, the effect of ocean acidification on marine ecosystems and their tropicalisation, and <strong>plastic pollution<\/strong> around Japan.<\/p>\n<p>Nicolas Floc&#8217;h and Sylvain Agostini met during<strong> the Tara Pacific expedition<\/strong> led by the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/oceans.taraexpeditions.org\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tara Ocean Foundation<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0where Sylvain Agostini was a scientific coordinator. Since then, they have had many projects, such as &#8220;Science-Art Initium Maris&#8221; where they document the <strong>tropicalisation of marine ecosystems<\/strong>.
