The Editions Thalie<\/a><\/strong> are pleased to present their last artist’s multiple,\u00a0Private Architecture (oui oui, non non)<\/em><\/strong>, a jewelry signed by Val\u00e9rie Mannaerts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Launched by Nathalie Guiot<\/strong>, Editions Thalie has been involved in the creation of limited edition artists jewelry for several years.\u00a0Sculptor as much as painter, the Belgian-born artist Val\u00e9rie Mannaerts has imagined for this 2020 season, Private Architecture (oui oui non non)<\/em>, a jewelry inspired by the pre-Columbian pectoral jewel in leaf cutting.\u00a0A singular jewel linked to the plastic universe of the artist: ornamental and whimsical.\u00a0Private Architecture (oui oui, non non)<\/em>\u00a0unfolds like a fan. Like a talisman, it reveals and protects with its ceramic amulets representing small ghosts or spoons like good lucks charms.
\nA joyful and mysterious jewel!<\/p>\n

Born in 1974 in Brussels, Val\u00e9rie Mannaerts<\/strong> was artist in residence at the ISCP New York (2008) and De Rijksakademie Amsterdam (2007).\u00a0Val\u00e9rie Mannaerts has participated in numerous exhibitions, including Huis Clos<\/em>, Biennale de la peinture, Mus\u00e9e Roger Raveel<\/strong>, Zulte (2020), Convex\/Concave: Belgian Contemporary Art<\/em>, TANK<\/strong>, Shanghai (2019), What is Ornament?\u00a0Architecture Triennial<\/em>, Lisbon (2019), Curtain Call<\/em>, IFFR Kunsthalle Rotterdam (2018), Real Somethings<\/em>, Bernier\/Eliades Galerie<\/strong>, Brussels (2017), Solid Liquids<\/em>, Kunsthalle M\u00fcnster<\/strong> (2016); Everything Architecture<\/em>, BOZAR<\/strong>, Brussels; Words aren’t the Thing<\/em>, CAC<\/strong>, Vilnius (2015); Small Museum for the American Metaphor<\/em>, RedCat Gallery<\/strong>, Los Angeles (2014); Orlando, BOZAR<\/strong>, Brussels (2013).<\/p>\n

In 2016, Val\u00e9rie Mannaerts is invited by BOZAR<\/strong> to conceive a permanent installation Pleasure in Making<\/em><\/strong>, a three-handed embroidered curtain, currently displayed at the Centre for Fine Arts (Victor Bozar Caf\u00e9) in Brussels.
